• Victors of WW1 wanted to preserve the peace that resulted. They also benefitted from the results of the League of Nations and this meant their existing world was thriving. Comparatively, those defeated by WW1 (Germany, Italy, Japan) wanted to revise the imposed conditions.

On January 1918 → The US president Wilson delivered an address to the US Congress which included his famous 14 points. When the Paris Peace Conference met in 1919 he held high prestige and was able to dominate early proceedings in creating the League.

United Nations

The UN failed in its fundamental goal of maintaining global peace however this did not limit the desire of many to recreate a similar body once WW2 was over, this modern UN has proved highly beneficial in combating many of the international issues that threaten modern existence.

• As a central component of Membership for UN is that they have to provide access to armed nation to give them military power.
